What are the school hours?
- School hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Is there before and after care?
- Yes, Holy Family Catholic School offers a Morning and After School Program that is available to students in grades K-8. Students must be pre-registered to use the program. Drop in service is available.
What is a typical class size?
- An average class size at HFCS ranges between 20-23 students. In Kindergarten, First, Second and Third Grades there are shared Instructional Assistants in each classroom.
Do you teach a foreign language?
- Students at HFCS begin Spanish instruction in Kindergarten and continue through eighth grade. Spanish in grades K-3 is based on an effort grade, while in fourth through eighth grade it is considered an academic grade.
Is there a PE uniform?
- HFCS students wear a PE Uniform and sneakers on their scheduled PE day.
Is there hot lunch?
- Holy Family Catholic School has a 5-day a week voluntary hot lunch program. The food is prepared on site by our cafeteria specialist. HFCS also offers a Milk program. Parents may purchase milk for the entire year at the beginning of the school year for $50.00.
Is Holy Family accredited?
- Holy Family Catholic School is fully accredited through the Virginia Catholic Education Association (VCEA).
Is a physical required for entry into HFCS?
- All students entering HFCS are required to have an updated physical and current immunizations record.
Is Holy Family Catholic School a “nut free” school?
- We cannot guarantee that we are 100% nut-free, the administrations identifies and monitors all students with either food or environmental allergies to provide the safest environment possible.
Do you have a learning resource teacher?
- Holy Family Catholic School is committed to meet the needs of all its students. Students with special needs are evaluated once an application is submitted. Our Learning Resource Specialist works closely with our principal to determine student needs and available resources.
Do students wear a uniform?
- Holy Family Catholic School has a summer and winter uniform.
